More Cats, More Time – Molyvos, Lesbos, Greece

I know, I know, it has been a while since my last post, but I think it is safe to say that I am officially running on Greek Time here, and that will not be changing anytime soon.

Today was the day I was scheduled to return home (in a few hours in fact), but after a lot of consideration I decided to extend my stay. I realized there was so much going on here and so much work to continue that I felt it was night the right time to leave. I also feel I was not in the right mind-set to return home, and I know that when I do it will be a big adjustment period for me.

The last few days have been rough, but I wouldn’t trade a single day at home for it. Ramadan started and this has changed the dynamic of how the camp is being run and the activities that the unaccompanied minors will participate in. But so far, so good.

So much has happened since I last wrote. At our party, one of my housemates and volunteers found and adorable kitten (not sure which is more adorable), and decided to name it Pumbaa.

We also had a dance party with the boys at the camp, which was one of the best days I have had since coming here. It amazes me, that despite everything these boys have been through, that they can still come out of the other side smiling. I love these boys with all my heart.

Tomorrow is my day off, so I have another road trip planned.

That’s all for now!

**Due to limited access to WiFi, some of my posts have been written a week or more before publication. For that reason, I will try to post the date they were written to give you an idea of when the events in the post took place.
