I Have Lived a Thousand Lives

Travel, by far is the best kind of freedom. There is nothing more freeing to me than hitting the road. When travel is not always a practical option, I always have the next best thing. For me, a book can hold just as much freedom. Each new story is a great escape, a new far away land and time for me to explore. From The Third Age of Middle Earth to Russia in the 1800s, or the great account of the Battle of Hogwarts to the French Revolution. Ever since I was a young girl, I have been enchanted with reading, a love fostered by my grandmother. Though I was young, she read me the classics. She taught me that no novel is too challenging to read or understand if you take the time to try and imagine yourself alongside the protagonist and sympathize with the antagonist. I am a sucker for Greek tragedy and Shakespeare alike. Books provide a gateway to all walks of live and teaches us some of the greatest life lessons. One of my favorite quotes is: A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.

And I have lived a thousand lives.
